Alongside his brother, who is also a painter, he discovered his passion for art at the age of twelve. After school at the Lycée, Saurel would visit the workshop of the renowned artist Jean René Jérôme, where he received mentorship and guidance that helped shape his artistic path. For Saurel, painting was never a necessity but a true calling.
Description : The soft, glowing light of dawn spreads across the sky, blending with pastel pinks and oranges, casting shimmering reflections on the calm water below. The ripples in the sea, painted with delicate strokes of blue and turquoise, add a serene sense of motion as the sailboat moves toward the horizon. The simplicity of the boat’s structure, paired with the intensity of the colors, makes the scene both calming and dynamic. The sail catches the morning breeze, giving life to the quiet moment. This painting beautifully captures the essence of a peaceful Caribbean morning, where the promise of a new day meets the timeless rhythms of the sea.
